Naseem Hijazi is an Indian Urdu fiction writer. He began writing in the early 1920s. His earliest work was the novel Dastan-e Mujahid, which was based on the history of the Indian province of the same name. The book was written in the Punjabi language. His writings on Islam and the Islamic history were inspired by his travels to Spain and the history of the Muslim communities in India. His later novels are based on events that took place in the history of the Muslim community in India.

Naseem Hijazi has written more than 40 novels and two non-fiction books. He has also written a large number of short stories, poems, and essays. His writings are widely read and appreciated in Pakistan and India. He has been awarded with many literary prizes. He is also the chief of the Urdu Language Committee of the Pakistan Government.
